Sinopsis:
Communicative English for Culinary Art is a textbook designed to support the teaching and learning of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) in the field of culinary arts. This book aims to develop students’ communicative competence by integrating language skills with real-life culinary contexts.
The materials in this book cover the four essential language skills listening, speaking, reading, and writing which are systematically presented in each chapter. In addition, grammar and vocabulary are contextualized within culinary topics such as cooking methods, kitchen equipment, food preparation, food presentation, and professional communication in the kitchen.
Each unit is designed to be practical and student-centered, providing clear explanations, model texts, structured exercises, and communicative tasks. Students are guided not only to understand the language but also to apply it in authentic situations, such as describing dishes, explaining cooking procedures, and presenting food professionally.
This book is intended for university students, particularly those in vocational and technical education programs related to culinary arts. It can also be used by lecturers and instructors as a comprehensive teaching resource to enhance both language proficiency and professional skills in the culinary field.
